When I was young, I thought you were supposed to find your “one-true-love” and ride off into the sunset together. Before I even knew the term “monogamy,” that idea was burned into my brain. I didn’t know there was any other option. In my hetero-normative world growing up in the suburbs in the 70’s and 80’s, it was all about getting the man. At the same time, all of my fantasies as a teen were about women…
…and then I discovered that there is a huge world out there of relationship structure opportunities. Men, women, dyads, triads, and more. In fact, you can create your own structure and do it ethically and transparently! And so, off I went exploring.
Who knew you could have the most connected relationships and the best sex of your life starting in middle-age? I do! And you can too. You can even start earlier! Why not? I wish I did.
